2 General information
Your personal data (e.g. title, name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, bank details, credit card number) will be processed in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions on data protection, in particular the REGULATION (EU) 2016⁄679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 January 2016. April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, on the free movement of such data and on the repeal of Directive 95/46/EC (the Data Protection Basic Regulation - DSGVO), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and other data-related laws [e.g. the Telemedia Act (TMG)].
We will only use and process your personal data within the permissible scope of contract processing or if you have given your informed consent.
We do not pass on your personal data, including your address and e-mail address, to third parties. Excluded from this are our service partners who require the transmission of data for the processing of the contractual relationship or if we have expressly pointed this out. In these cases, however, the amount of data transmitted is always limited to the necessary minimum.
3 Anonymous data collection
You can visit our website without telling us who you are. We only learn the name of your internet service provider, the website from which you are visiting us and the pages of our website you are visiting. This information is only evaluated for statistical purposes. As an individual user, you will remain anonymous and will of course not be merged with your personal data unless you have expressly consented to this or one of the cases listed below applies.
4 Collection of personal data when you visit our website and use our services in general.
As a matter of principle, we only collect personal data if you provide us with it voluntarily and voluntarily. This can be done, for example, when placing an order or for the execution of a contract, a survey or when registering for services which require registration with personal data (e.g. for orders, special offers, competitions, newsletter dispatch or similar). In such cases, we only collect the data to which we are legally entitled and which is absolutely necessary for the fulfilment of the services you have requested (e.g. your name, your address, your telephone number and your e-mail address for ordering processes, for example, only your e-mail address and your first name for personal contact when registering for the newsletter). If we collect personal data from you (e.g. via a contact or order form), you only need to enter the required data. The mandatory data fields are marked accordingly. All additional data provided by you are purely voluntary and do not have to be disclosed by you. If you nevertheless indicate this, then you give us your consent with your disclosure that we may also store and process this data from you for the purpose stated in each case; in some cases we also request your express consent for data protection purposes, which require express consent, which you can of course give voluntarily, is not bound to any further requirements and can be revoked at any time for the future.
For the highest possible security of your data, these are transmitted by SSL coding in coded form. This is to prevent misuse of the data by third parties. Your data will only be stored and processed by us on servers within the European Union. A transfer to third countries does not take place unless we are entitled and/or obliged to do so by law or you have expressly consented in advance. However, these cases are then also clearly identified.
5 Data processing for the performance of the contract
Processing purpose You provide us with your personal data as part of our ordering process, for example. The compulsory data marked in this context are personal data which are necessary for concluding a contract with us. Of course, you are not obliged to provide your personal data. However, we cannot provide the service you require (e.g. contract fulfilment) without your notification of the data required in each case (in the case of an order, e.g. your e-mail address). With some payment procedures we need the necessary payment data in order to pass them on to a payment service provider commissioned by us. The processing of your data entered during the ordering process is therefore always carried out for the purpose of fulfilling the contract.
Legal basis The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 b) DSGVO.

Storage time We store the data required for the execution of the contract until the end of the statutory warranty periods and, if applicable, contractual guarantee periods. We keep the data required by commercial and tax law for the legally specified periods, regularly ten years (see § 257 HGB, § 147 AO).
6 Cookies and consent under data protection law
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage). Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We distinguish between strictly necessary cookies, which are required to operate the website, and optional cookies, which we only set with your consent. We do not use any analytics, tracking or advertising cookies (e.g. from Google, Facebook or Bing).
Strictly necessary cookies and storage are used for your session, the checkout process handled by our service provider Sendowl, remembering your cookie decision and remembering whether a notice pop-up has already been shown to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR) and Section 25 (2) of the German TDDDG.
Optionally, and only with your consent, we load the support chat of our service provider Zendesk (see section 7). This service is only embedded and only sets its own cookies once you click “Allow” in the cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). Your consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future by reopening the cookie banner via the cookie button at the edge of the page and choosing “Reject”. All functions of the website except the support chat are available to you without consent.
Specifically, the following third-party cookies are set:
sendowl.com – our service provider for sales and order processing (strictly necessary, checkout only)
zendesk.com – our service provider for the support chat (only with your consent)
In addition, we set the following first-party cookies and local storage entries (i.e. under our own domain):

7 Services used
We also use the following services:
a.) Sendowl
For the purpose of order processing we use Sendowl (sendowl.com). Sendowl is a service that is used for the sales process as well as order processing including shipping of the purchased products. For this reason your personal data, which you communicate to us during the purchase process, will be stored by Sendowl. We have signed a “Data Processing Agreement” with Sendowl as the so-called Data Processor, in which Sendowl confirms to comply with all legal regulations according to applicable law.
b.) Zendesk (support chat)
For our customer service we use the chat and help widget of Zendesk, Inc., 989 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. The widget is only loaded after you have given your consent in the cookie banner. Your browser then connects to Zendesk servers; the data processed includes technical data (IP address, browser, time of access), the cookies set by Zendesk and any information you enter yourself in the chat or contact form. Zendesk also processes data in the USA; this is based on the EU standard contractual clauses and Zendesk's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Zendesk. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time as described in section 6. c.) Mailcoach (newsletter)
To send our newsletter and the KNX article series we use Mailcoach, a service of Spatie BV, Kruikstraat 22, 2018 Antwerp, Belgium. The data you enter in the sign-up form (name, e-mail address) and the time of sign-up are stored on Mailcoach servers within the EU. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Mailcoach. Details on subscribing and unsubscribing can be found in section 10.
8 Revocation of your consent
If you have given us your consent under data protection law for certain data uses and/or services, you can of course revoke this at any time with effect for the future. A simple message to the following address is sufficient:

9 Your rights
You have various rights with regard to your personal data. As the data controller, we have taken appropriate measures to provide you, the data subject, with all information pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of the DSGVO and all communications pursuant to Articles 15 to 22 and Article 34 of the DSGVO relating to the processing in a precise, transparent, comprehensible and easily accessible form in clear and simple language. The information shall be communicated in writing or in any other form, including, where appropriate, by electronic means. If you so request, the information may also be provided orally, provided that your identity as a data subject has been established in another form.
Among other things, you have the right at any time to request written or electronic information about the data stored about you and its origin, the recipient or recipients, and the purpose of the storage. In addition, you have the right to demand that incorrect data be corrected and that your data be deleted or blocked if the legal requirements are met. If you have registered separately for the newsletter, your e-mail address will be used for our own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates of your access provider.
